Abacus Accounting Oy is an independent accounting and tax consultancy firm with its registered office in Hyvinkää. We work for owner-managed companies and subsidiaries operating in Finland.
The company’s history, as the register records it
The legal entity behind this firm was entered in the Finnish Trade Register on 5 October 1973, and it has held the same Business ID, 0115454-6, since the Business Information System issued identifiers on 15 March 1978.
We say this precisely because the detail matters: the company was registered under the name Typotor Oy from 5 October 1973 until 7 April 2014, and the name Abacus Accounting Oy has been on the register since 8 April 2014. The continuity is real — same legal person, same Business ID, same obligations — and so is the change of name. Both are public, and we would rather you read them here than discover them in the register and wonder what else was rounded off.
Today the registered field of activity is 69201 — Accounting and bookkeeping activities; tax consultancy (in Finnish, Laskentatoimi, kirjanpito ja veroneuvonta) — and that is exactly the work we sell.
How we work
Accounting is a craft of small, unexciting disciplines: reconcile before you report, write down why you took a position, meet the deadline rather than explain it afterwards. A client should never learn about a filing obligation from a penalty notice.
We are deliberately a small firm. You deal with a person who has read your ledger, not a queue. In return we are honest about capacity: if we cannot do your year-end properly in the time available, we say so instead of accepting the work and being late.
Independence
We receive no commission from any bank, insurer, software vendor or financing provider for recommending them, and we do not price our work as a share of a tax result. If we recommend a system or a specialist, it is because it fits your file.

Working languages
Bookkeeping and statutory filings are prepared in Finnish as the authorities require them. Correspondence, reporting and advice are available in Finnish, Swedish or English.
Where the work is done
At our office in Hyvinkää, on systems we control. The privacy policy names every processor that touches client data and the country it operates from — including the company hosting this website.
One standing clarification. Abacus Accounting Oy is an accounting and tax consultancy firm. It is not the Finnish Tax Administration and does not act on its behalf; it is not a firm of authorised auditors and does not perform statutory audits; and it is not a credit institution, payment institution, investment firm or insurance intermediary. Nothing on this website is an offer of credit, financing or investment.
